09/23/2012 01:30 AM. One male adult has been charged with the fatal stabbing of a
41-year-old male victim, stated Chief Ralph L. Godbee, Jr.
On September 23, 2012 around 1:30 a.m., in the 400 block of W. Congress,
the male victim was working at a local night club when a physical
altercation occurred amongst patrons. As the victim escorted the
suspect out of the establishment, it’s alleged that he produced a
sharp edged weapon, and stabbed the victim in the body. The victim
died from the injury.
Due to the meticulous and thorough investigation conducted by the
Detroit Police Homicide Investigators, the suspect was identified
asLaVelle Dumas, aged 20. The Homicide Investigators provided the
identification and the possible whereabouts of Dumas to the Detroit
Fugitive Apprehension Team (DFAT). Members set up surveillance today,
September 27, 2012, in the area of Woodward Avenueand West Grand Blvd,
and around 12:00 p.m., they took Dumas into custody.
