Annapolis police have arrested a man they say tried to kidnap a woman and her toddler at gunpoint. Thirty-year-old William Ranaldo Brown of Annapolis is charged with attempted kidnapping and other offenses. He is being held on $200,000 bond. Police say about 3:45 p.m. Wednesday, Brown approached a woman carrying groceries and her young daughter. Officers say he brandished a handgun and told the woman she was going with him. The woman began yelling for help. This drew the attention of a woman across the street who came to help her, police said. Brown then let go of the victim and then ran toward the Harbour House community. Officers found Brown in the 1000 block of Madison Street, where he arrested without incident. View Source.
