Sun, 07/22/2012 - 18:30 Case #12sp05999 Type of Incident: Attempted Robbery Date and Time of Incident: July 21, 2012 at about 3 a.m. Location: El Rancho and Capurro Victim: name withheld Suspect: see below for description On July 21, 2012 Sparks Police were notified of an attempted robbery which had occurred in the area of El Rancho Drive and Capurro Way. Officers met with the victim and she stated that around 3 a.m. she was walking to her car which was parked in the area. As she approached the car, a male who is unknown to her approached her and struck her. She was knocked to the ground and was punched and kicked numerous times. She was treated at Renown Medical Center for minor injuries. The victim described the suspect as a white male with a thin build. He was wearing baggy, oversized clothing described as a white t-shirt and blue jean shorts. That suspect was last seen running eastbound on Capurro. The victim believes that there may have been another suspect present, but there is no description available at this time. There are some similarities in suspect description to another robbery which occurred several hours earlier in the same general area. That suspect was described as a white male, 6'0" tall with blond hair and baggy clothing. That incident was documented with Sparks Police case number 12sp05991. It is unknown, however, if the two incidents are related. Sparks Police are continuing to investigate both incidents.
