Assault - 11XX BLOCK OF FLORENTINE CIRCLE, BIRMINGHAM, AL

Just after 10:00 pm last night Deputies responded to a report of a teens fighting in the 1100 block of Florentine Circle near Huffman High School. The caller gave deputies a description of the people involved. When deputies arrived the 14 year old victim told them that he was in the parking lot of Town and Country Apartments when he was approached by four other teens he knew from school. One of the teens pointed a shotgun at him while the others attempted to fight him. One of the suspects grabbed him from behind, went through his pockets and took his money. The victim was able to break free and ran back to his aunt's apartment where he and his 16 year old sister were staying for the night. Two of the suspects came and knocked on the door. When the victim's sister opened the door, one suspect pointed the shotgun at her and punched her in the face. The other pushed him and tried to fight him again before both ran away. Deputies responding to the scene found two suspects matching the description given walking on Old Springville Road near Huffman High School. They were taken into custody. These two suspects were 16 and 13 years old. The 16 year old had a shotgun hidden in his pants. Both were taken back to the scene where the victim and his sister identified them as the attackers. The other two suspects were not found. All names are being withheld due to the age of the suspects. The sixteen year old was charged as an adult for Robbery 1st degree and taken to the Jefferson County Jail where he has a $50,000 bond.
