Shooting - 19XX BLOCK OF CENTER POINT ROAD, BIRMINGHAM, AL

Birmingham, AL 06/19/2012 - The pair is charged in relation to the June 14 murder of Larrice Bryant. On evening of June 14, at about 7:40 pm, deputies were flagged down by a man reporting a carjacking at a fast food restaurant in the 1900 block of Center Point Road. A 61 year old reported that he was with his son in the restaurant parking lot when two armed men got into his son's truck. He jumped out and the truck left with the suspects and his son. While on scene, deputies received a report of a shooting in the 1600 block of 6th Place NW. They arrived to find 33 year old Larrice Bryant dead from multiple gunshot wounds. During the course of the investigation it was learned that Bryant and his 61 year old father had agreed to meet the suspects to buy marijuana and the suspects instead planned to rob them. There was a gun battle inside the truck as it drove through the northwest side of Centerpoint during which Bryant shot one of the suspects in the hand and he was shot and killed. The vehicle stopped in the 1600 block of 6th Place NW and the suspects fled on foot. The investigation developed two suspects, 18 year old Jeremy Dewayne Bell of Center Point and 23 year old Demario Jones of Grayson Valley. Detectives located Demario Jones hiding in his girlfriend's apartment on Saturday morning. He had been shot in the hand. Jeremy Bell's mother surrendered him to detectives Saturday afternoon. Both suspects are in the Jefferson County Jail charged with Capital Murder and are being held under no bond. View Source.
