100 BLOCK OF JUPITER DRIVE, PINSON, AL
Birmingham, AL 06/15/2012 - Homeowner shoots suspect.
Just before 2:30 this afternoon deputies were dispatched to investigate a report of a home invasion in the 100 block of
Jupiter Drive in Pinson. When deputies arrived the suspects had already fled the area. The victim told deputies that he
had noticed two men acting suspiciously in front of his home and watching him while he worked in his garage.When
he went to put some tools in his truck, one of the men approached him wearing a mask and pointing a gun. A second
armed man entered the house. The victim drew his own hand gun and pointed it at the suspect. The suspect called out
to the man in the house who came running out. The victim fired his gun striking one of the suspects. Both got into a
car and fled leaving their guns behind. Birmingham Police notified the Sheriff's Office that they were responding to a
report of a person suffering from a gun shot at a nearby apartment complex. When they arrived the man had been
taken to the hospital . Deputies found a 19 year old suspect in the emergency room of St. Vicent East Hospital being
treated. He had been dropped off by a second suspect. While depuites were at the hospital the second suspect
returned with another man. These two were taken into custody and are being interviewed by detectives. More
