02/28/2012. Ken Konias Jr., who remained at large for nearly two months after a fatal shooting and $2.3 million robbery of an armored car in the Strip District, was taken into police custody early Tuesday morning in Florida.
[...] Pittsburgh police and federal authorities had been searching for Konias since Feb. 28, when co-worker Michael Haines, 31, was found shot to death in a Garda Cash Logistics armored car that was ditched under the 31st Street Bridge.
Some of the stolen cash was from Rivers Casino, where the Garda Cash Logistics vehicle made a morning pickup. The armored car also stopped at Home Depot in Ross Township and was scheduled to go to Kmart on McKnight Road.
Police said more than $250,000 was previously found at the home of Konias' parents in Dravosburg and at his grandmother's gravesite.
