At about 7:01 p.m. Saturday, New Castle County police responded to the Newark Oaks community in Ogletown, where residents told officers that two men in a white van with green lettering on the back had made contact with a child near the parkland at Midland Drive and Brennan Drive, Cpl. John Weglarz Sr., of the New Castle County police, said in a news release.
The child fled and told a relative, who called 911, Weglarz said. Police said the van also had been spotted in the Todd Estates community.
One of the male suspects has short brown hair and was wearing a red shirt and blue pants. The other has blond hair and was wearing a white T-shirt.
Anyone with information about the two male suspects or the van is asked to call the New Castle County Police Department at 395-8110 (attention Detective J.
