Re: Death Investigation Location: 1717 Mason Avenue (Wedgewood) Date of Incident: March 15, 2012 Time: 1520 hours Police Report Number: 20120004629 On the above date and time Daytona Beach Police Detective went to 1717 Mason Avenue #625 in an attempt to effect the arrest of Willie James Hills for Capital Sexual Battery and Sexual Battery and Sexual Battery with a Minor while in Familial Custody. Over the past several months suspect Hills was having sex with a minor, and the girl became pregnant. No one answered the door, Detective waited and later, the resident came home and opened the door and allowed police inside they were told he was in the bathroom and he had armed himself with a knife. The rest of the residence was cleared and Detectives made entry into the bathroom and the suspect had stabbed himself in the heart with an approximately 10 inch butcher knife, the suspect was pronounced deceased on scene at 1700 hours. The suspect had made statement to family members that he was not going back to jail, because they would kill him in jail for what his charges are. Willie James Hills B/M 07/22/1986. View Source.
