Two men admitted an attempted break-in which led to a police helicopter chase down the A12. George Stokes, 25, and Benjamin Paget, 23, admitted trying to break into Goldsmiths Jewellers, in Culver Square, Colchester. Colchester Magistrates’ Court heard the pair left the scene before police arrived in a stolen Volvo car and a chase ensued. District judge David Cooper said the pair were caught after a chase down the A12 from Colchester. He said: “They tried to break through the shutters and then ran to a stolen Volvo.
