08/24/2011 11:00 PM. Shortly before 11pm on Wednesday, August 24, 2011, Harford County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a 911 call in the 200 block of Mayberry Drive in Aberdeen, MD. The caller indicated that there was an injured male bleeding profusely from his head.
Upon arrival, deputies located the victim, Patrick Pollard, age 31 of Ozone Park, New York. Original reports indicated that he had been shot in the head. Pollard was treated at the scene by Aberdeen Volunteer Fire Department and flown by Maryland State Police Trooper 1 to the University of Maryland R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center. As of 1:30am, he was listed in stable condition.
Preliminary investigation indicates that a gun shot grazed Pollard's head during an altercation with three to five unidentified black males. Further investigation has determined that Pollard was severely struck in the head, possibly pistol whipped, as opposed to being shot during the altercation with the suspects as originally believed.
